Assault

According to the State of Washington, assault is defined as the intentional, unlawful touching of the body of someone else. Assault charges in Washington can be felonies or gross misdemeanors depending on the specifics of the alleged event. The prosecution will have to prove that you intended to commit the act, meaning that something that happens on accident does not apply with this charge. As with many other crimes, several defense strategies can be used to fight this charge.

Both police and courts in Seattle take assault accusations very seriously. These charges are punishable with fines, probation and jail time. If you or a loved one has been charged with criminal assault in the greater Seattle area, contact us for a free consultation on your case.
